Brain Outcome after Cardiac Arrest (BROCA)-intervention study

Treating long-term cognitive impairments of cardiac arrest survivors

Cardiac arrest survivors are at substantial risk of long term cognitive or emotional impairments. These may lead to functional impairments and restrictions in participation.

The overall aim of the BROCA-intervention study is to establish effective treatment strategies to improve cognitive functioning and participation of cardiac arrest survivors. To achieve this, we perform multiple single case experimental design (SCED) intervention studies on cognitive rehabilitation therapy. The study protocol of the first SCED can be found here. Additional intervention studies on repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation are under design.
